Our story
A tradition that lives on
1932
The Martinuzzi family opened its namesake store, creating and selling exquisite lacework and embroidery, from table centrepieces, tablecloths and placemats to handkerchiefs and children’s clothing.
1999
The store underwent a careful restoration, while its original sign, flooring and display windows were preserved as historic features of Venice. That same year, glassware was introduced to complement the tableware collection, marking the beginning of collaborations with Murano’s finest glass furnaces.
2009
The collaboration with glass artist Massimo Lunardon began, with Martinuzzi becoming his official retailer in Venice.
2015
Martinuzzi promotes and hosts exhibitions celebrating excellence in contemporary art glass. These include INUNDO by Massimo Lunardon, a powerful reflection on the delicate relationship between Venice and acqua alta, and AVVENTURINA by Davide Fuin, featuring a private collection of 40 works crafted from aventurine—one of the most precious and technically challenging types of glass.
